Poetry To Absorb

Hardly a Breath

A million million molecules,
of you.
Buoyant breath, lightly dancing,
absorbed by me
penetrating me.
Then,
oh so reluctantly,
exhaled.

Now you,
inhale of me,
drawing
my essence
deep inside you;
my bursting energy
expanding alveoli,
turning life to crimson.

Apart by a thousand miles and more.
Today
just one of
those molecules
rides the currents,
and flirts its way
between us,
as a kiss.
