Poetry to Unconfuse!

Sonnet Makers

Poets write Sonnets to keep them amused
Sestinas and Clerihues help them play
Villanelles tend just to get them confused
Whilst Rondeaus only lead them astray
Italian Sonnet form is bizarre
Spenserian rhythm seems a bit hard
But poets like me are happier by far
With the simpler rhyming scheme of the Bard

When as suggested our 'form be confined'
as we develop a poetic thread
I would concur when it brings to my mind
How Blank Verse would serve them much worse instead

So let Poetry flow, although we be
Confined by form, for in spirit we're free
